Homeowner or DIYer Power Tool KitWhen you talk about building a tool collection, it gets pricey fast. Plus there are so many different types and models of so many power tools, it's just a lot. The biggest thing to remember when building your basic collection is to buy tools as you need them. Don't just go out and buy a Reciprocating Saw because you heard you would need one.
If you have the money to spend all at once I recommend buying one of the power tool combo sets from Amazon found on this page. As far as price per tool is concerned these combos are the best deals, especially when you factor in batteries, chargers, and cases. The Ryobi contains 2x Batteries, a Charger, a Cordless Circular Saw, a JobPlus Multi Tool, a Drill and Impact Driver, a Reciprocating Saw, and even a Work Light for an amazing price (see Amazon for current pricing). The Milwaukee 15 tool combo is everything you could possibly need. The 15 tool combo may be a bit much for the average DIYer, but it does have very useful tools at an amazing price. If you click the Milwaukee combo you will find they sell all sizes of combos just Drill/Driver, 6 tool, all the way up to this massive 15 tool collection. The latter is the Dewalt Flexvolt Imapact Driver / Hammer Drill combo. I recommend getting this combo if you are at all interested in getting any Flexvolt tools. Flexvolt tools are expensive but for unmatched power and durability. This drill/driver set will start your collection off on the right foot.
